Assignment #6 Polar Opposites

Daytime And Nighttime

I think daytime and nighttime are opposite. These two pictures I took on a street which is near my home. The left picture which is daytime I took at seven in the morning. I used manual mode, 1/1250, F5.6 and ISO 6400 to take. After that, I used Photoshop to change image size and Lightroom to change image color. The right one which is nighttime I took at 7:30 in the evening used manual mode also, 1/50, F5.6 and ISO 6400. I really like these two pictures and I think these pictures can be opposite so I put them together. Also, daytime and nighttime can be represent our lives. Every living thing much experience day and night. When we get up in the morning, we can see the sky is bright. Then we start to our works. And when we have dinner everyday, the sky start to become dark. When the sky become completely dark, we start to go to sleep. We repeat our schedules. We see the daytime and nighttime everyday and the time passes from us. Let me understand that time is precious.

  1. I think I understand what you were going after but I'm afraid it doesn't work well in this format. The images you've taken aren't working together to create a final piece that really shows polar opposites. The composition of each is similar but that seems to be about the only thing that works in the way I think you were going after. You can talk to me in class but I need you to rethink the images - you can certainly use the same concept but please reshoot.

  2. Ground and sea are also not really polar opposites...ground and sky, water and clouds...?

  3. Thank you for retaking these. I'm intrigued by how you placed them "back to back" as opposed to side by side. What was your reason for this?
